Nature magazine recently published
href="https://www.nature.com/articles/d41586-019-00857-9”>"Scientists rise up
against statistical significance”. While the bulk of this is outside my area
of expertise, some of the conclusions have interesting overlap into areas of
metrics and measurement that I've mentioned elsewhere in my blog.
“We must learn to embrace uncertainty.”
“Last, and most important of all, be humble: compatibility assessments hinge
on the correctness of the statistical assumptions used to compute the interval.
In practice, these assumptions are at best subject to considerable
uncertainty.” [emphasis mine]
